GREENVILLE — As dogwoods begin blooming along the Reedy River corridor, Greenville Parks and Recreation has released its spring programming calendar for Falls Park on the Reedy, the downtown anchor that draws an estimated one million visitors annually and serves as the informal gathering space for much of the city’s civic life.

The spring lineup, which runs from late March through Memorial Day weekend, includes a free Friday evening concert series on the upper lawn, guided nature walks led by Naturaland Trust educators, and a new Sunday morning yoga series that will take place on the Liberty Bridge — the 345-foot curved pedestrian span that has become one of Greenville’s most photographed landmarks.

“We’ve never programmed the bridge itself before,” said Greenville Parks Director [Name]. “It holds about 80 people comfortably for yoga, you’re 30 feet above the falls, and there’s no car noise. It’s a pretty extraordinary setting.”

The Sunday yoga sessions, offered free of charge and open to all skill levels, begin April 6 and run through May. Participants are encouraged to bring their own mat. Space is limited and registration is available through the city’s parks portal.

The Friday concert series features a mix of local and regional acoustic and folk acts, with performances beginning at 6 p.m. on the upper terrace near the parking deck entrance on River Street. The series opens April 11 with a set by [local band name], a Greenville-based string quartet that performed at last year’s Euphoria festival.

Parks staff have also completed spring maintenance on the park’s trail network following winter erosion repairs along the lower Reedy path between the West End suspension bridge and the Camperdown Way crossing. Two benches and a water fountain near the lower falls overlook have been replaced.

Falls Park is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Parking is available in the adjacent RiverPlace parking deck on River Street. The full spring programming schedule is available at greenvillesc.gov/parks.
